“I wish for everyone to reflect on their running careers with a much-deserved sense of pride.
When I first moved to SC in 2009, I searched and signed up for adult soccer leagues. I met an ultramarathoner on the field and my mind was blown. I dismissed it almost immediately after. I didn’t yet have my “why.”
I completed my first half marathon nine years ago and after swearing I’d never do it again myself, I finished 7 more before entering my first marathon a year and a half later.
Fast forward one more year, and I entered a 50k. I became arrogant and thought I had strong enough legs from playing soccer four times a week and doing a couple of double digit runs here and there, so I entered a 100 miler. Ah, to be young and naïve again!
My poor feet, my confidence shattered, my gut in shambles; I returned to the marathon/50k distances. In 2021, I completed my first 100 mile race as first place female. Sure, I was the only female finisher but after a race called Frozen Hell Hole, I was and am still pleased as punch!
I am here as a die hard advocate for coaching and following training plans. I believe you can reach your goals in running–and life–with discipline, dedication, and cheerleaders in your corner. I know life can, and often does, get in the way. I hope to respectfully and as firmly as you need, guide you in the safest and smartest way to pocket your first or fiftieth medal!
